DISTANCE AND INDEPENDENT STUDIES CENTER

The Distance and Independent Studies Center (DISC) is one of the central facilities of the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUK). DISC offers distance learning programmes and various services for students enrolled at TUK, whether in a distance learning or an on-campus programme, and for lecturers.

Distance Learning Programmes

The Distance and Independent Studies Center originated from the "Zentrum für Fernstudien und Universitäre Weiterbildung" ("Centre for Distance Learning and University Further Education"), which was founded in 1992 at the former University of Kaiserslautern. Since then, the facility has grown rapidly and offers part-time distance learning programmes in the subject areas of Human Resources, Management & Law and Science & Engineering, which comprise German- and English-language Master's programmes, as well as Certificate programmes and Certificate courses.
