Scientific Director of the DISC: Prof. Dr. Rolf Arnold
Prof. Dr. Rolf Arnold is a professor of education, more specifically, vocational and adult education at TU Kaiserslautern. He is also the scientific director of the Distance and Independent Studies Center (DISC) at this University, spokesperson for the Virtual Campus of Rheinland-Pfalz (VCRP) and until 2011, he served as chairperson of the administrative board of the Deutschen Instituts für Erwachsenenbildung (DIE) in Bonn, Germany.
His research expertise lies in the fields of adult education, formal vocational training, occupational training and continuing education, teaching and learning system development (e.g., distance studies), inter-cultural vocational education as well as emotional learning.
Managing Director of the DISC: Dr. Markus Lermen
Dr. Markus Lermen obtained his doctorate in the Department of Social Sciences at TU Kaiserslautern following his Magister program at Saarland University and a masters degree also from TU Kaiserslautern. Since December 2010, he has been employed as the director of DISC.
His research expertise lies in the field of adult education, learning and teaching with digital media in addition to school development.
